ACHIEVEMENT OF THE MONTH
GREG HOBDEN 51 YEARS OLD
Here’s a message from Greg about his fitness journey over the last 10 months from January 2019 to September 2019. We hope that by publishing this it will inspire anyone who wants to do the same to go for it!
I had been relatively fit in my late 30’s but In my 40’s i'd slowly but surely put on a couple of pounds a year, until I hit my 50’s and found myself unacceptably overweight. I didn’t feel unwell but I didn’t feel good about myself either. I'd made excuses to myself for years that I was different… That exercise wouldn’t work for me. And then last Christmas I looked at a picture taken of me on the beach in Norfolk and thought … THATS IT… Enough is enough! I knew in that moment that I had to sort it out.
No more excuses… by some serendipitous chance, on that same day an ad popped up on my Instagram from HEX. Something about it peaked my interest and I found myself chatting to Chris a couple of days later. I liked him and I really liked his approach, so I signed up to the HEX 60 day challenge. It's hard to remember how quickly the weight fell off me but I know it happened quickly. I basically did the opposite of what id been doing for the previous 10 years... and did exactly as I was told. Chris said 'lift that' and I lifted it - he said 'run over there' and I ran. He also said to sign up to My fitness pal and log my diet / calories.
That’s exactly what I did. When I say exactly - I do mean exactly … I didn’t miss a day logging my food for the first 5 months. At the start it was tricky but it soon became a 2 minute thing I did at the end of the day.
To date I have lost 16 Kilos and totally changed my body shape. I could not be happier with the results and am a massive HEX fan. I am 51 and am fitter than I have ever been. I recently decided I wanted to take it to the next stage and signed up to a new 3 month program. For the first time in my life I want to get properly into shape. At 51 its probably my last chance ! I’m currently two weeks in and thoroughly enjoying it … lets see where I get by Christmas !
