Viv is 58 and lives in Tooting. She joined Hex Life during one of the most challenging periods of her life — after being diagnosed with cancer just over a year ago.
As part of her recovery, Viv knew she needed to focus on herself and her long-term health. Fitness became a key part of making sure she came back stronger, both physically and mentally.
The Challenge
After her diagnosis, Viv wasn’t just thinking about getting through treatment — she was thinking about life after.
She wanted to rebuild her strength, regain confidence in her body, and do everything she could to support her recovery and future health. But starting something new, especially training multiple times a week, felt daunting.
Why She Nearly Didn’t Start
Viv is open about the fact that the journey hasn’t been easy.
The physical and emotional demands of recovery meant training was tough — and committing to something challenging took courage.
But she also knew that doing nothing wasn’t an option.
The Turning Point
At Hex Life, Viv found more than just workouts.
She found small group training, genuine support, and a community that made her feel safe, encouraged, and understood.
Session by session, she began to surprise herself — building strength she never knew she had and reconnecting with her body in a powerful way.
The Results
Through consistency and commitment, Viv has achieved:
✅ Muscle and strength she never thought possible
✅ Renewed confidence in her body
✅ Increased vitality and energy
✅ A routine of training 3–4 times per week
✅ A strong sense of community and belonging
In Viv’s own words:
“I’ve achieved muscles I never knew I had — real confidence, strength, and vitality. I just say to people, look at me. You never would’ve imagined I’d be in the gym three or four times a week.”
What This Means for You
If you’ve been through illness, a setback, or a period where your body didn’t feel like your own — Viv’s story is proof that strength can be rebuilt.
At Hex Life, we believe training is about more than fitness.
It’s about resilience, confidence, and reclaiming what your body is capable of.
